Documentation for Academic Visitors: Accessing the MyEC System

This presentation outlines how to access the MyEC electronic form for all types of visits and visitors.

Documentation for Academic Visitors for a Brief Visit

This presentation outlines how to complete the MyEC electronic form for brief visits (Category 1 Visitors). A visitor engages in a brief visit when his or her visit does not exceed 14 calendar days in duration and does not involve use of a laboratory or clinical space. Use of the MyEC system is optional in this case, but it is recommended because it creates a permanent electronic record of the visit.

Documentation for Academic Visitors for Humanities and Social Sciences

This presentation outlines how to complete the MyEC electronic form for Category 2 Visitors in the social sciences and humanities. A visitor engages in this type of visit when his or her visit exceeds 14 calendar days in duration, does not involve use of a laboratory or clinical space, and as stated previously, involves the social sciences or humanities.

Documentation for Academic Visitors for STEM-Discipline-Based Visitors

This presentation outlines how to complete the MyEC electronic form for any category of Visitor whose research in the STEM and other disciplines is laboratory or clinically based (regardless of the duration of the visit). STEM-based research visits, in particular, will require the completion of additional export-control-related questions.
